I live on a farm in middle Tennessee. When a hard wood tree dies and naturally falls down,  I take part of the tree and cut it into sections leaving the rest in the forest. I then cure the sections and carve them with hand tools into bowls and platters.  The resulting products are not as symmetric and uniform as what you see done on a lathe. They are unique and one of a kind pieces of art, due to the carving technique, the way the wood has naturally decayed, insect, and animal destruction.  I will make bowls as a custom order depending on size,  wood species available, and customer likes, or you can buy a product directly that has already been made.  All products are sanded smooth, and finished with mineral oil and bees wax from local bees and so are food safe.  None of the wood is stained and so all the colors are natural.  All products are signed,  dated, and the tree dated for approximate age. You can order already made products and the shipping is included in the price. If you want to custom order a product, half the price is due on ordering and I will include you in the process such as picking the log and design and keep you posted as it is made.
